Better equipped to effectively diagnose, treat, and resolve problems that have negatively impacted your life for years.

Temporomandiular Joint (TMJ) is the joint that is located on each side of your head in front of your ears where your lower jawbone meets your skull. This joint allows you to yawn, chew, and talk.

Research has shown that dental forces associated with the muscles, nerves, tendons, and ligaments within the dentomandibular region contribute to a number of patient’s symptoms, which are not properly diagnosed or treated by most dentists. Patients suffering from dentomandibular dysfunctions may have symptoms, which include:

  • Headaches and/or migraines
  • Jaw tracking issues
  • Excessive dental wear and/or tooth breakage
  • Facial pain
  • Locking of the jaw
  • Clicking or popping of the jaw (TMJ sounds or vibrations)
  • Discomfort or pain in the head, neck or jaw
  • Clenching and grinding
  • Uncomfortable or uneven bite
  • Aching pain in/around the ear

In rare cases, TMJ symptoms can resolve themselves. In more common and severe cases, there are several treatments such as:

  • Medications

o Pain killers
o Antidepressants
o Muscle Relaxants
o Corticosteroids
o Botox

  • Traditional TMJ Therapies

o Bite guard
o Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Surgical and other treatments

o Corrective dental treatments
o Arthrocentesis
o Surgery to repair/replace the jaw

HOWEVER, NONE OF THESE ARE COMPLETE AND EFFECTIVE IN COMPARISON TO THE NON-INVASIVE TRUDENTA PROGRAM OFFERED BY DR. BARNETT.

In most cases TMJ and the symptoms can be alleviated with self-managed care and non-surgical treatments.

There are several issues that can contribute to TMJ symptoms, which can include:

  •  Disk erodes or moves out of proper alignment
  • Joint’s cartilage is damaged
  • Joint is damaged by trauma or impact injury
  • Facial muscles become overworked as a result from years of clenching or grinding

In some cases the causes of TMJ are not detectable.

  • You may be at risk of TMJ disorder if:
  • You are a female between the ages of 30-50 years old
  • You suffer from rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, and fibromyalgia
  • If you were born with a facial abnormality
